About Simon Ma:
Born in Hong Kong in 1974, Simon Ma studied under Master Fan Tzu Teng. Passionate about music, art and design as a child, he
moved to London all on his own when he was 13 and began to experiment with Western art and design.  He holds degrees in
Architecture and Urban Planning from the University College of London (Bartlett Architecture College) and founded his own art and
lifestyle company MA.Design.

Ma's work has been exhibited at La Biennale di Venezia, The Hong Kong Jockey Club, The Taiwan Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts,
MOCA Shanghai, Amsterdam’s Leslie Smith Gallery, Three on the Bund, Beijing 798 District, Vienna’s Dorotheum, Benedetto
Marcello Conservatory of Music/Palazzo Pisani (with Julian Lennon), and public art installations throughout Shanghai. His artwork is
included in numerous private collections and in the corporate collections of Westin, The Pingan Group, and Bank of
Communications.

Ma has served as Professor at Donghua University Shanghai, East China Normal University, Tongji University, East China University
of Science & Technology and the Shanghai Theatre Academy.

He founded the M-Charity School in China’s rural Guizhou Province in 2004. Ma was awarded “Outstanding Cross-Over Artist 2013”
by The Shanghai Tatler; “Designer of the Year 2012” by sohu.com; the L’Oreal Vogue Media Award in 2008; and named Cultural
Ambassador by the United Nations Association in 2006.

He has served as Art Director for films, television series, plays and musicals by renowned directors Wen Jun, Wong Jing and Jacky
Cheung. Ma has served artistic designer for Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ducati, RADO, Hublot, Vertu, Remy Martin and Chivas. In
2013 he was appointed to serve as Art Director for the Chinese Pavilion and China Corporate United Pavilion at Expo 2015 (Milan),
and as the Cultural Ambassador of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Please visit

More than 400 guests attended the opening, celebrating the U.S. premiere of Ma's new world tour. The show runs through October 19.
Chinese crossover artist Simon Ma’s new world tour exhibition "Heart • Water • Ink" made its U.S. premiere in Miami July 12 at the
Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum at Florida International University.

A tribute to Chinese master artist Xu Beihong on the 120th anniversary of his birth, the exhibition is curated by Dr. Carol Damian,
Director and Chief Curator of The Frost Art Museum.

More than 400 guests attended the opening reception, including Patrica and Phillip Frost; the artist's mother Regine Chan; FIU
President Mark B. Rosenberg and Rosalie Rosenberg; Provost Dr. Kenneth Furton and Debby Furton, and George Neary.

This new show follows the success of Ma’s previous world tour "Ink • Brush • Heart," shown at the Venice Biennale in 2013.

"Heart • Water • Ink" features more than 70 artworks including Ma’s paintings, freehand brushwork, Chinese ink hybrids, graffiti art,
Chinese calligraphy sculptures, dimensional stroke and lacquer paintings, 3-D art video, projections, Murano glass, and large-scale
dragon and horse sculptures.

Simon Ma was named a Cultural Ambassador by the United Nations, "Chinese Crossover Artist of 2013" by The Shanghai Tatler and
"Designer of the Year" by SOHU.  

He has worked as an Artistic Director with Ferrari, Lamborghini and Porsche.

Ma has exhibited at the Venice Biennale, MOCA Shanghai. Amsterdam's Leslie Smith Gallery, and Taiwan's Kaohsiung Museum of
Fine Arts. His upcoming exhibitions include The National Museum of China and Expo 2015 in Milan.
