Aug. 7, WASHINGTON D.C. – Asian and Pacific American Islander Vote (APIAVote) condemns the Trump administration’s push for states to prematurely redraw congressional districts ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. This mid-decade redistricting effort, which breaks from the long-standing practice of redrawing maps only once per decade after the U.S. Census, is a blatant attempt to entrench partisan power and suppress the voices of historically marginalized communities—including AAPI voters.
