On September 26, 2009, the Bengali Association of Madison celebrated Durga Puja
2009 at the Badger Ridge Middle School in Verona, Wisconsin, with prayers and offerings
during the day and a cultural program and dinner for all at night. Asian Wisconzine attended
the cultural presentation which featured traditional songs and dances as well as a comedy
skit -- a lively "debate" between two "contenders" for president of BAM who debated on
issues such as which food to serve during meetings. The gathering was not only a truly
warm get-together of the Bengali community with friends and guests but also a strong
commitment to keep the Bengali tradition and culture alive in Wisconsin. -- Videography by
